25 Students Perform with All-County Ensembles

Twenty-five Bronxville School students were among a select group of talented singers and instrumentalists who performed at the prestigious Westchester County School Music Association’s 2018 Elementary and Intermediate Festival concerts. The performances took place on March 3 and 4 at SUNY Purchase.

Bronxville Elementary School fifth-graders Natalie Ahern (alto 2), Madeleine Brandes (alto 2), Alessia Cutaia (alto 1), Dakota Delli Colli (soprano 1), Nora Eddib (soprano 1), Bronwyn Fitzgerald (alto 1), Lena Vermette (soprano 2) and Zarine Yahoobi (soprano 2), and sixth-graders Bailey Gilliam (soprano 1) and Ava Jacobsen (alto 1) performed with the All-County Elementary Chorus. In addition, fifth-grader Max Stein (oboe) and sixth-grader Maeve McWilliams (trombone) performed with the All-County Elementary Band. The All-County Elementary Orchestra featured fifth-grader Aidan Gegenwarth (violin) and sixth-graders Simos Dimas (violin), Madeline Lescott (viola) and Ria Mueller (cello).

Bronxville Middle School seventh-graders Savannah Delli Colli (alto), Lizzy Langhoff (alto) and Addie St. Phillip (soprano), and eighth-grader Maggie Lockwood (soprano), as well as Bronxville High School ninth-graders Calvin Golimbu (baritone) and grade Izaak Thoms (baritone), performed with the All-County Intermediate Chorus. The All-County Intermediate Band featured seventh-grader Aidan McBride (French horn) and eighth-graders Carl Tamussino (trombone) and Alice Vranka (clarinet).

"We have such a talented group of musicians who have auditioned to attend the festival,” music teacher Marina Brown said. “They have been working so hard on learning their music and we are all so proud of them for their hard work and dedication."

The instrumentalists were chosen by members of the WCSMA on the basis of auditions last fall (for the Elementary Orchestra and Band) and the scores they received at last spring’s New York State School Music Association Solo Evaluation Festival (for the Intermediate Orchestra and Band). The singers were chosen by their school’s choral director on the basis of auditions.
