Innovative Classroom Spaces Coming to Bronxville High

At the June Board of Education meeting High School Principal Ann Meyer described changes planned for three classrooms this coming year. Supported by grants from the Bronxville School Foundation, the redesigned classrooms reflect an interest in moving away from lecture formats toward more diverse, student-directed learning experiences.  The plans grew out of a series of faculty visits to other innovative spaces, including the I-Lab at Horace Greeley High School and Avenues and Google offices, both in New York City.  Faculty members have been working with a design firm, Fielding Nair, and are participating in ongoing professional development about how to use the reconfigured spaces.
