Senior Joshua Raiff Nominated for Presidential Scholars Program

Joshua Raiff, a Bronxville High School senior, is among 25 high school students across the state to be nominated for the 2018 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program.

The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program recognizes and honors some of the nation’s most distinguished graduating high school seniors and it is considered one of the highest honors for high school students. Every year, one young man and one young woman from each state are named as Presidential Scholars.

“Josh redefines grit, determination and perseverance,” high school guidance counselor Aaron Kind said. “He has developed a plethora of interests throughout his high school career. He has a passion for history, specifically military and food, and loves to read books. Also, Josh has an insatiable desire to understand the natural world. This is evident by his course choices during his time in high school and his presentation at the Innovation Expo last spring. Josh is destined to make a meaningful impact on the world.”

According to state officials, the nominees exhibit exceptional leadership qualities and prove that creativity and perseverance can make a positive impact. The names of the 2018 U.S. Presidential Scholars will be announced in early May.
