Undaunted by snow days and the lack of an auditorium, Bronxville students and the performing arts faculty overcame the odds to mount a dazzling production of Sweeney Todd last week. Thanks to the active support of Rev. Michael Bird, the drama department secured the use of space at Christ Church, redesigned the production, and produced an imaginative version of the musically challenging Sondheim play. Not least of the challenges was the harsh winter, interrupting the rehearsal schedule and making it difficult to sustain momentum as the dates drew near. In the end, the schedule was modified slightly, but the cast and crew triumphed over adversity and drew rave revues.
