Bronxville Elementary Kicks off Be3 Assemblies with Theme of Community

Bronxville Elementary Kicks off Be3 Assemblies with Theme of Community

K-5 students gathered on Friday, Sept. 19 for the first Be3 assemblies of the year, hosted by Interim Principal Adrienne Laitman, Assistant Principal Dr. Michelle Tween and Student Council Representatives Sloane Curtis, Lily DeMartini, Vito Giudice and Felix Melnyk. Together, they helped lead the program to guide their peers through activities celebrating the core values that shape the school community: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe.

The assembly highlighted what it means to put Be3 into practice in the hallways, classrooms, playground and beyond. Students reflected on how following these expectations helps create a school where everyone feels welcomed, ready to learn, and connected.  The Be3 program also ties directly to the Bronxville Promise, reminding students that by showing respect for others, they help foster a sense of belonging for all.

To celebrate positive choices, students also learned about the rewards that come with practicing Be3 –– from receiving stickers and Bronco cards to being recognized at future assemblies. This month’s theme was “Community,” encouraging students to think about the many people who support them each day at school.

Adding excitement to the program, students played a guessing game with the student council, where they received clues about special community members before welcoming them on stage. Honored community members included Mr. George (Phipps), security guard supervisor; Ms. Deen, senior office assistant and registrar; and Ms. Murray, senior lunch and recess monitor. The school mascot, the Bronco, also joined in on the fun to the delight of the students.

The assemblies wrapped up with a spirited performance from the elementary cheerleaders from last year’s BASC group. Leading the crowd in the Be3 cheer, they had the entire auditorium echoing:

We are Bronxville – Broncos!
Let’s be Respectful!
Let’s be Responsible!
Let’s be Safe!
GOOOOO – BRONCOS!

Through programs like Be3, Bronxville Elementary continues to emphasize not only academic learning but also the importance of building a positive, respectful, and connected school culture.
