Bronxville Hearts for the Arts Celebrates Student Creativity Across Grades 3 to 12

The Bronxville School community came together on February 9 for a memorable evening celebrating student creativity at the annual Hearts for the Arts event. 

The one night celebration showcased the depth and diversity of artistic talent across the district, beginning with a Selected Art Exhibition featuring student artwork from grades 3 through 12. Families, faculty, administrators, and community members filled the reception space, creating an atmosphere filled with energy and appreciation. Guests remarked on the impressive variety of mediums, styles, and themes represented throughout the exhibit. 

A highlight of the evening was the AP Art and Design exhibition, hosted in a dedicated event space. Each AP student displayed a work representing their sustained investigation, offering attendees a meaningful glimpse into the depth of their artistic exploration and growth.  

The celebration continued with the first Open Mic Night of the year, sponsored by the High School Arts Society and the PTA Arts Council. The Open Mic, organized by the Arts Society Presidents Katie Fezza and Louise Jacobs, featured a packed house and a dynamic lineup of high school performers. 

Students performed a mix of well known and original works, demonstrating both technical skill and creative expression. Notable duets included Henry Gerding and Zoe Reid performing “Stick Season” by Noah Kahan; Annie Jacquette and Athina Lekovic singing a selection from Wicked; Celeste Kwan and Louse Jacobs performing “Linger” by The Cranberries; and Juliette and Diana McEnroe singing “The Only Exception” by Paramore. 

Additional standout performances included Katie Fezza’s rendition of “The Subway” by Chappell Roan; Josie Leddy performing “Spring into Summer” by Lizzie McAlpine; and a powerful finale performance of “Tennessee Whiskey” by Chris Stapleton featuring Diane McEnroe, Juliette McEnroe, Maggie Miner, and Anette Dani. 

From the visual arts to live musical performances, Hearts for the Arts reflected the vibrant creative culture that defines The Bronxville School. The evening not only highlighted student talent but also reinforced the district’s commitment to fostering artistic exploration, collaboration, and expression across all grade levels.
