Bronxville High School State Champions Honored by Senator Shelly Mayer

Bronxville High School recently welcomed Senator Shelly Mayer, who visited campus to recognize two extraordinary athletic achievements that brought statewide distinction to the Bronxville community. Senator Mayer presented official proclamations honoring the Bronxville Girls Cross Country Team and the Bronxville Boys Varsity Football Team for their New York State titles.

The Girls Cross Country Team earned the New York State Class C Championship in November at Bowdoin Park in Wappingers Falls, finishing first against a competitive field from across the state.

The Boys Varsity Football Team secured its state championship in December, marking the program’s first state title since 2010. The team’s successful season concluded with a decisive championship victory. “It’s unbelievable that Senator Mayer took time out of her day to come and acknowledge our players,” said Coach Patsy Manginelli. “They work extremely hard and hold themselves to a high standard of effort, both on and off the field and in the classroom. To be recognized at this level means a great deal to them and to our program.”

During her remarks, Senator Mayer praised the student-athletes for representing their school community with excellence and noted that Bronxville’s success extends beyond academics to include outstanding athletic achievement. She also acknowledged the vital role played by coaches, administrators, and families in supporting student success.

The Bronxville School District is proud of these championship teams and appreciates Senator Mayer for taking the time to personally honor their accomplishments. Congratulations to the Girls Cross Country and Boys Varsity Football teams on their remarkable state championship seasons.
