Bronxville Middle School Students Learn About Internet Safety

Bronxville Middle School students recently welcomed Westchester County Assistant District Attorneys Laura Forbes and Kevin Griffin and Criminal Investigator Autumn Edwards for an important discussion about internet safety and responsible online behavior.

During a workshop with students, the guests addressed a wide range of topics, including how to recognize potential dangers and ways to stay safe on social media, gaming platforms and messaging apps. Forbes also met with parents to share resources and guidance to help them recognize potential red flags and help their children navigate the online world safely.

“Their expertise led critical, age-appropriate discussions regarding the dangers, legal realities, and long-term consequences associated with digital communication and online behavior,” Principal Joe Mercora said. “We are deeply grateful for their partnership in keeping our community informed and proactive.”

The workshops provided students and families with practical information to help them make safe and responsible choices online. The discussions also emphasized the importance of reducing unsupervised screen time and encouraged parents and students to work together to establish healthy and safe digital habits.
