Bronxville School administrators recently met with local preschool directors to strengthen partnerships and discuss ways to better support incoming kindergarten students and their families. In addition, the gathering provided the preschool directors with the opportunity to learn about updates to the district’s kindergarten registration process.

Among the participants were Bronxville School Superintendent Dr. Rachel Kelly, Interim Bronxville Elementary School Principal Adrienne Laitman, Bronxville Elementary School Assistant Principal Dr. Michelle Tween, Bronxville School K-12 School Psychologist and CPSE Chairperson Danielle Santariello, Eliza Corwin Frost Director Krista Hershberg, The Chapel School Preschool Director Maureen Butler and The Reformed Church Nursery School Director Margaret Murtagh.

The group discussed the profile of the district’s incoming kindergarten cohort and their perspective on how schools can support students as they move from preschool to kindergarten. They also talked about challenges related to universal support staff and explored ways they could continue to meet student needs.
