Led by adviser Gillian McGovern, members of the Bronxville Youth Council hosted the Southeast Consortium for their annual basketball game on March 25. The Southeast Consortium is a nonprofit organization that provides therapeutic recreation programs to children and adults with disabilities.
“The SEC team loves to come and play us because it gives them valuable practice while allowing all the players to get playing time,” Bronxville Youth Council President Thanos Saridakis said.
Saridakis added that he hopes the experience helps build students’ confidence and encourages them to step out of their comfort zones.
Members of the Bronxville Youth Council worked to make sure the event was enjoyable for everyone and are looking forward to hosting a prom for the Southeast Consortium on May 30.
