The Bronxville Union Free School District proudly congratulates Head Football Coach Patsy Manganelli on being named the 2025 New York State Head Football Coach of the Year. The honor follows a remarkable 12-0 season that culminated in a Class C State Championship, marking the program’s first state title in 15 years.

Under Coach Manganelli’s leadership, and with the support of a dedicated coaching staff, the 2025 team completed an undefeated season defined by efficiency, consistency, and balanced offensive production. The Broncos averaged 387 yards per game, representing a 40 percent increase from the previous year. The first-team offense lost yardage on just 4 percent of its plays, and the team converted 70 percent of its fourth-down attempts. Bronxville trailed for only 33 minutes and 9 seconds throughout the entire season and did not trail during the final 542 minutes and 51 seconds of play. The passing game averaged 18 yards per completion, while the rushing attack was led by Section One’s all-time leader in touchdowns, who averaged 10 yards per carry.

Coach Manganelli emphasized that this achievement would not have been possible without the commitment and leadership of his coaching staff. The Broncos’ team includes Defensive Coordinator Vic Quirolo, Offensive Coordinator Anthony Fava, Special Teams Coordinator Lou Cicillini, Assistant Coach Vincent Garofalo, and Assistant Coach James Molloy. Together, they helped establish the “Tough Culture” that became a defining characteristic of the program.

The season also included individual recognition for senior Brian Formato, who was named Class C State Player of the Year. Formato set the Section One record with 42 touchdowns and rushed for over 2,000 yards during the team’s undefeated championship season.
In addition to this statewide honor, Coach Manganelli has been selected as a featured speaker at the upcoming New York State High School Football Coaches Association conference, where he will share the philosophy that guided the Broncos to a championship season.
Beyond the field, Coach Manganelli serves as a Physical Education and Health teacher at Bronxville, where he emphasizes a consistent message to students: give your best effort in every endeavor. His approach, often described as “EEE,” centers around Effort Equals Everything, reinforcing lessons that extend well beyond athletics.

“We are incredibly fortunate to have Patsy Manganelli leading our young men and representing our district,” said Anthony Vaglica, Director of Physical Education, Health, and Athletics. “His impact on our students’ lives goes well beyond the scoreboard. He teaches resilience, discipline, and integrity every day. Watching him lead this team to a State Championship was a proud moment for our entire community, and this recognition is well deserved.”

The District congratulates Coach Manganelli, his coaching staff, and the student athletes on an outstanding season and on representing Bronxville with excellence across New York State.
