Bronxville High School students in Mr. Doyle’s Economics class are gaining firsthand insights into the world of finance through visits from guest speakers who connect classroom learning to real-world experience.

As part of their unit on the stock market and personal finance, students participate in the Stock Market Game of Westchester and research companies listed on the Dow Jones Industrial Average. To enrich their studies, several professionals and alumni have joined the class to share their experiences in the field.

Among the recent visitors was Mr. Stein, parent of senior Max Stein and an investment professional at Truist Bank, who shared how he evaluates companies and offered guidance on college courses and career paths for students interested in finance. Students also heard from Tommy Garofalo ‘22, a Bronxville graduate and current Economics major at Boston University, who joined the class via Zoom to discuss his college experience and interest in the subject.

Mr. Curran, a trader at Redmile Group, is also scheduled to meet with students to share insights from his work in financial markets.

Through these experiences, Mr. Doyle’s students gain a deeper understanding of how economic concepts play out in professional settings and how their studies today can translate into exciting future opportunities in finance.
