Science Project Helps Students Explore the Human Body

A student glues colorful cutouts representing human organs onto a large paper outline in a classroom setting, promoting hands-on learning about the human body.

A group of fifth, sixth and seventh grade students in Karen Green’s science class recently participated in an interactive activity to bring their studies of the human body to life. As part of a monthlong unit, the students traced life-sized outlines of their bodies onto paper and added organs as they learned about them in class.

“The students studied the human body, including organs and systems such as the stomach, brain, lungs, heart, skeletal system and muscular system,” Green said. “The goal of the unit was for students to learn about each organ and understand the important role these organs play in their bodies.”
