Students Lend a Hand to Local Veteran With Yard Cleanup

Members of Bronxville High School’s Fuller Center Club recently volunteered to assist a U.S. Army veteran who is unable to maintain his property, completing a cleanup of the front and back yards.

Working together, the students mowed the lawn, pulled weeds and cleaned away dirt and an old cloth covering from the backyard patio. They also swept up leaves and removed outdated backyard furniture.

The service effort is part of the club’s ongoing commitment to supporting residents in the Westchester County community through The Fuller Center for Housing. Under the guidance of advisers Chris Doyle and Zhanna Cabrera, the students volunteer throughout the year while also organizing fundraisers.

The club’s next initiative is a plant sale scheduled for the week of May 4, with proceeds benefiting The Fuller Center for Housing and its mission.
