Grace Randall, a Bronxville High School senior and captain of the lacrosse team, has been named News 12 Scholar Athlete in recognition of her academic and athletic accomplishments and leadership skills on and off the field.
An accomplished three-sport athlete, Randall is a three-year lacrosse starter who has had 23 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers this season. She has received All-League and All-Section awards and has earned the prestigious Golden Dozen award. Randall was also named to the state tournament Class D All-Tournament girls lacrosse team. In addition, she plays girls soccer, runs indoor track and holds a school record in the 4x200-meter relay race. According to her lacrosse coach, Sharon Robinson, Randall is the steadiest defender on the team and a leader of the defense.
“Grace is super involved in the school and broader community and is a three-sport athlete,” Robinson said. “She is a committed student-athlete who, earlier in her career, aspired to play college lacrosse at a top university. Instead, she doubled her efforts in the classroom and decided to concentrate on her academics and love of medicine.”
Besides her dedication on the field, Randall has been an Athletic Council treasurer, Freshman Transition leader, founder and co-president of the Med Sci (Pre-Med) Club and co-creator of the “Good Fight” Social Justice Club at the high school. She’s also a youth group senior leader at the Reformed Church of Bronxville, a volunteer at the NYU Langone Medical Center and has participated in service trips to Belize and Jamaica. In addition, she has taken a demanding courseload consisting of Advanced Placement and honors-level classes. She has been named an AP Scholar with Honor and a Commended Student in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship program.
Randall will attend the University of California, Los Angeles, in the fall, where she will continue her academic and athletic pursuits.
