Bronxville High School students are preparing to take audiences on a winter holiday to the Greek islands as they perform the crowd favorite “Mamma Mia!” from Feb. 6-8. The production – under the guidance of theater director Robert Cross – involves 28 actors, 25 crew members supporting them behind the scenes and seven talented student musicians playing alongside the professionals in the on-stage band.

“I am so proud of this cast and crew,” Cross said. “They have been pouring their hearts and souls into this production for the past three months. As a show ‘Mamma Mia!’ exudes joy, but it is rare to have a cast routinely bring that joy to the rehearsal room day after day after day. I am so grateful for their enthusiasm, talent and commitment. I have no doubt Bronxville will be just as proud of their efforts.”

The beloved musical, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, has become a global phenomenon, thrilling more than 70 million people worldwide since first opening in London’s West End. It tells the story of a mother, a daughter and three possible dads on a Greek island idyll, all unfolding to the magic of ABBA’s timeless pop masterpieces.

“Ear worms are guaranteed at ‘Mamma Mia!’” Cross said. “You’ll have to resist the urge to sing along to hits such as ‘Dancing Queen,’ ‘The Winner Takes It All,’ ‘Super Trouper’ and ‘Voulez Vous.’ That is, of course, until the finale when we will invite you to do just that.”

The cast is led by Isabel Haller (Donna), Peyton Levine (Sophie), Isadora Schmidt (Tanya), Claire Berkeley (Tanya), Ciara Andrews (Rosie), Manny Rivera (Sam), Kingsley Knecht (Harry), Will Sousa (Bill), Christopher Rivera (Sky), Juan Carlos Diaz (Pepper), Annie Jaquette (Lisa), Louise Jacobs (Ali) and Charlotte Haller (Lorelei).

Performances will take place on Thursday, Feb. 6, at 5 p.m., Friday, Feb. 7, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 8, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 and available at cur8.com/25876/project/128622
