Band/Orchestra Students Performing
Bronxville, NY

Bronxville School musicians kicked off the holiday season and welcomed their classmates to school with various performances around the building on Dec. 17. In lieu of a traditional holiday concert, members of the elementary school band and orchestra, middle school orchestra, middle and high school band, and the high school chorus performed holiday tunes.

Under the direction of Uma Karkala, the middle and high school band students performed “Angels We Have Heard on High,” “Carol of the Bells,” “Jingle Bells,” “Oh Christmas Tree” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” Under the direction of Wyeth Tvenge, the middle school orchestra students performed “Frosty the Snowman,” “Deck the Halls,” “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch.”

Under the direction of Sharon Slote, the elementary band students performed in two separate groups. The flute group performed “Dreydl, Dreydl,” “Good King Wenceslas” and “Jingle Bells,” while the trumpet and clarinet group performed a medley of holiday classics called “Holiday Sampler” by John O’Reilly and Mark Williams. Under the direction of Adele Hoffman, the elementary orchestra students performed “Deck the Halls,” “Hark! the Herald Angels Sing,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” “Jingle Bells” and “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.”

Under the direction of Maaja Roos, the high school chorus students performed “Deck the Halls,” “Hark! the Herald Angels Sing,” “Jingle Bells,” “Lullay, Thou Little Tiny Child,” “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”
