Bronxville Elementary School students have demonstrated their generosity by collectively contributing 944 pounds of food, equivalent to providing 787 meals for neighbors in need. Guided by the leadership of teacher Susan Engelhardt and the fifth grade student council, the students successfully completed their first drive of the year by collecting essential food items for Feeding Westchester. Over the last two weeks, student representatives dedicated their early mornings to greeting families and fellow students under the elementary canopy.
“The students were thrilled and excited to be a part of this important community service and to see so many families participate,” Engelhardt said. “The student council would like to extend a sincere thanks to all who donated.”
In the spirit of the holiday season, student council members are gearing up for their next endeavor – a toy drive for the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots. The initiative aims to bring joy and serve children in local communities.
