Fifth Graders to Present Outdoor Production of ‘Camp Rocka’
Bronxville, NY

Bronxville Elementary School will present its fifth grade production of “Camp Rocka,” which will take place outdoors near the auditorium on May 15-16. Under the direction of Leisha Horin and the New York Rising Kid Stars, the show features a dedicated group of performers.

“In just a couple weeks, the students have come together to form these family-like casts, learning dialogue, lyrics and choreography like professionals,” teacher and production coordinator Derrick DiRienzo said. “The show is so fun and high-energy. I think we all need some smiles right now.”

“Camp Rocka” tells the story of a group of children and the time they spend together at a summer music camp.

“I'm most excited for the students to successfully come through this despite the challenges we have all faced over the past year,” DiRienzo said. “We're all just so happy that they are able to have this creative experience and can share that with the entire community.”

While audience is limited to cast members’ families, the production will be livestreamed on the district’s YouTube channel. Cast A will perform on Saturday, May 15, at 3 p.m. and Sunday, May 16, at 12 p.m. Cast B will perform on Saturday, May 15, at 12 p.m. and Sunday, May 16, at 3 p.m.
