As a way of expressing gratitude toward all Bronxville School faculty and staff, members of the PTA illuminated the flagpole entrance of the school on Dec. 6. The “Light Up the Night” event was made possible thanks to the generous support of the community, who purchased luminary kits in the teachers’ honor.
“This has been an extremely challenging school year, and we are so grateful for the commitment, creativity and hard work of our school administration, faculty and staff,” said PTA President Lia Gravier, who helped organize the event with President-Elect Jennifer Heathwood. “We hope that ‘Light Up the Night’ brought a little brightness to the Bronxville community.”
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Roy Montesano, Assistant Superintendent of Schools Dr. Rachel Kelly and the entire leadership team expressed their good fortune to work among outstanding educators and staff in an incredibly supportive community.
“Our teachers have gone above and beyond to make students learning at home and in school feel welcomed and part of the class,” Director of Curriculum and Instruction Dr. Mara Koetke said. “They have incorporated new technology and demonstrated resilience since last spring and we are grateful for all of their efforts on behalf of our students.”
In addition, families displayed luminaries in front of their homes to further show their unity and kick off the holiday season.
