Members of Bronxville High School’s Model United Nations Club finished the school year with a small conference at their school. Under the direction of club adviser Steve Klurfeld, 10 students recreated procedural and logistical practices used at Model UN conferences.
“All students in the orientation program really got the knack of the formality of discussion very quickly and arrived at some interesting solutions to address the issue of nuclear proliferation,” Klurfeld said.
Club leaders Chloe Lee and Patrick Wu, both juniors, have been guiding their classmates through the process and were commended for their knowledge and enthusiasm. Earlier in the year, the students participated in the virtual Washington Area Model United Nations Conference, where they assumed the roles of U.N. ambassadors, debated a wide spectrum of current issues and advocated for their positions.
