Second graders have been studying organisms and their habitats. As part of a hands-on lesson in Susan Monaco’s science classes, they created and maintained a terrarium with isopods, millipedes, pine tree seedlings and moss, as well as an aquarium filled with elodea, chara, guppies and snails. The students observed the special adaptations of the organisms and discussed how the animals and plants coexist.
