Bronxville High School celebrated three of its outstanding senior athletes – Wyatt Gravier, Davis Patterson and Amy Villanueva – who announced their commitment to compete at the collegiate level during a special letter of intent signing ceremony on Nov. 13. Surrounded by administrators, teachers, family and teammates, the students were recognized for their dedication to athletics and academics.
Athletic Director Joseph Haven praised the students’ achievements and acknowledged the years of hard work, dedication and perseverance that led to this moment.
“Take pride in everything you’ve accomplished but know that this is just the beginning,” he said. “College athletics will test you in new ways, and you will face obstacles, but it is in those moments that you will grow the most.”
Gravier has been a key member of the varsity indoor and outdoor track teams for five years, setting six school records along the way. As the reigning state and Federation champion in the 100-meter hurdles and Westchester County Athlete of the Year, Gravier will bring his talents to the University of Connecticut, where he will compete in hurdles and high jump. In addition to his athletic pursuits, Gravier is a drummer for the school’s jazz band.
Patterson, who has competed on the track team for two years, will continue his track career at Davidson College, competing in the short and middle distances while studying business and psychology. During his time in Bronxville, he has competed in multiple sports, including football and track, and holds several school records. As co-president of the Athletic Council, his leadership extends beyond the track.
Villanueva, a multisport athlete who has competed in soccer, indoor track and lacrosse, has been instrumental in leading Bronxville to numerous league, sectional and regional championships. A state champion and captain of both the soccer and lacrosse teams, she will join the lacrosse team at Bucknell University. Outside of athletics, she serves as a lifeguard and volunteers with the One Love Foundation, exemplifying her commitment to service.
The students expressed their heartfelt gratitude toward their families, coaches and teachers for their support and guidance.
