Students Share Stories of Identity and Loss at Bronxville Voices Assembly
Bronxville, NY

Bronxville High School students Tim Atkenson, Alexandra Dessart, Chloe Lee and Julia Reich focused on the topics of identity, passion and loss during the annual Bronxville Voices Assembly, livestreamed on the district’s YouTube page on Jan. 13.

Atkenson spoke about a summer experience canoeing and reflected on his accomplishments and the lessons he learned along the way. Dessart talked about the loss of two friends. Lee talked about her experiences navigating the challenges of confronting implicit bias growing up in Bronxville. Reich talked about her struggles with swimming.

The Bronxville Voices Assembly series, organized by history teacher Bill Meyer, was created in 2011 to provide a space and place for students to share their passions, experiences and interests with their peers.
