Students Walk to School in Honor of Earth Day
Bronxville, NY

Bronxville Elementary School students and their families walked to school as part of the annual spring tradition, Walk to School Week, from April 26-30. The initiative was designed to raise awareness about the environment and the importance of getting daily exercise.

“Our students participate in Walk to School Week each year to celebrate Earth Day in an effort to reduce our carbon footprint and reduce traffic in the village,” Principal Tricia Murray said. “It also increases the students’ understanding of their impact on the environment so they can be a little more ‘green.’”

When they arrived at school, students were greeted by Murray, Mayor Mary Marvin and Police Chief Christopher Satriale and received colorful stickers for being environmentally aware.
